Cosentino at Sydney InDesign 2015

Last month, Cosentino took part in Sydney InDesign, 2015. The exhibition gave us the opportunity to show off our newly revamped Alexandria showroom, as well as showcase our extensive Silestone and Dekton product ranges. Through a range of opportunities over three days, we were able to provide industry and consumer guests with a little insight into what the Cosentino brand is all about.

Located at the Galleria at Carriageworks, numerous architects from Sydney’s elite practices along with fantastic interior designers, enjoyed a fabulous three course meal prepared by Felix Halter. With three dining settings per day for the duration of Sydney InDesign, the dishes were prepared and served on an exquisite dining table, manufactured from Aura, part of Dekton’s natural collection. Cosentino provided the table as part of our ongoing collaboration with Swiss kitchen appliance leader, V-Zug. The dining area was set within the Habitus live design retreat and drew a lot of attention from curious bystanders. Undoubtedly the star of the show, the beautiful, marbled tones were hard to miss.

Back at our Sydney City Centre showroom, Cosentino hosted guest speakers and architects, Isabelle Toland, Koichi Takada, and Lucy Humphrey for the LiveLife discussion on kitchens and bathrooms. During their talk, our guest speakers explored the infinite possibilities in design, in line with their thoughts on current and future trends in the industry.

Throughout the exhibition, sand artist-extraordinaire, Jino van Bruinessen presented his sand creation to pay homage to architect Daniel Liebeskind’s ‘Beyond the Wall’ masterpiece, inspired by Cosentino’s signature surface, Dekton. Throughout InDesign, guests could see the sculpture come to life and witness his work as it progressed over the three day event.

The excitement continued throughout the day when UTS student, David Hamilton was announced as the local winner of the 2015 Cosentino Design Challenge. His project AdapTable was inspired from an idea to ignite a playground for adults, reversing the pre-existing stereotype’s that are currently present in society.

Sydney InDesign allowed us to connect with customers, partners and the broader design community. Over three days we invited guests to truly explore the opportunities of design and architecture in an imaginative way. We are already looking forward to the new prospects and opportunities for Melbourne InDesign next year.
